My little one . . .

I love you.
- Mommy

The day I hold you.

The day I hold you in my arms,
So soft and new, will be bliss.
A warm little bundle,
That I reach down and kiss.
My little angel,
Bathed in heaven’s light.
As you look up into my eyes
I know everything is all right.
The tears that I will cry,
To finally meet you are sweet.
So different than the tears now,
That leaves me feeling beat.

The day I hold you in my arms,
When finally my love I can impart.
Until then I’ll have to be content,
With holding you in my heart.

Bottled emotion

As a child to a young teenager, I didn't express the times that I was really sad or hurt. When I started High School, I composed all of that emotion into this poem.

First Drop of Fear

Thunder rumbling, lightning flashes.
I look up to the sky as a raindrop hits my cheek,
already wet with tears.

A glance,
nothing more and a child's laughter fades away.

Hopes and dreams,
with just a single squeeze,
can cause them to break.

A room with an unfinished painting.
A lost toy.

Feeling tired and alone.
As you wander in a scorching desert,
under a blazing sun.
Miles of dry sand,
accompanied by the sharp breath of a dragon.

An accident,
with death at the door,
It wouldn't have hurt you so much,
were it not for the loved one inside.

A glass figurine teeters and falls.
Shattering into tiny hazardous daggers.

The silence.
The stillness.

I wipe away my tears,
as rain continues to fall.

Darkness and pain

It's here

It's here.
Waiting in the dark, staring at me.
Frozen on the spot.

Two blue eyes.
Bright with new fire.
They look familiar, hurt and pain reflect.
A light passes by. The eyes are my own.
